[Completed] “Multi-institute 5G testbed: Energy efficiency and energy harvesting for 5G IoT”, 2018 – 2021 (PI)

Figure: An example test-bed for data-smart IoT implementation

The research aspect here is targeted towards augmenting the existing IoT systems with node-level intelligence for better resource efficiency and sustainability. The key testbed development and technology demonstration objectives are:

  1. Identifying resource hungry telematics as well as real-time communication applications
  2. Resource efficient (energy, bandwidth, and storage) solution strategies
  3. Energy-harvesting and on-demand energy supply-aware communication strategies
