[Completed] “Green/Sustainable IoT for Smart Environment”, 2021 – 2024 (PI)

Figure: Pictorial views of research translation efforts efforts on sustainable IoT networks for environmental monitoring

The following research translation and engineering aspects are being explored:

  1. Design and development of smart IoT sensor nodes for two target sensing applications, namely, data-smart power metering and grid monitoring, and fine-grained pollution sensing
  2. Campus deployment of indigenously developed nodes for field data collection, with appropriate network architecture designed for the two contexts
  3. Localization of events, such as pollution sources, for potential real-time actuation/ actionability by using the sensed field data from the IoT nodes, including demonstration of the online auto-calibration feature of the IoT nodes
